Competitive Vehicle Delivery Costs
Gladiola Adventure offers delivery services across East Africa. The delivery cost for the first and last days depends on your preferred location for vehicle drop-off or pick-up. Make the most of your Tanzania self drive safari.

Optional driver-guide / cook
At Gladiola Adventure, we have a team of experienced and truly affable naturalists and driver guides who are fluent in both English and Swahili. If you prefer a driver-guide who speaks your language, we’re happy to accommodate as long as you book in advance. Our aim is to provide you with a more relaxed Tanzania self drive experience, allowing you to delve deeper into the local culture and wildlife of Tanzania.
For an additional cost of $40/day, all the vehicles and suggested routes published on our website are available to book with a local driver-guide or cook. The fee is $40/day for the driver-guide and $25/day for the cook.
Self-driving with a local driver-guide offers the most flexible and customized safari experience you can have.
Please Note: We restrict clients from hiring drivers outside of Gladiola Adventures due to past unfortunate experiences. For such inquiries, please call Gladiola Adventures Ltd.
Crossing the border
PARK ENTRANCE REGULATIONS – KENYA:
Unfortunately, due to trade barriers between Kenya and Tanzania, safari vehicles like our Landcruiser Hard Top with a pop-up roof are required to be used in the country where they are registered. This means that any Tanzanian registered tour vehicle is not allowed into the Masai Mara and Samburu National Reserve.
WHEN PLANNING TO ENTER THESE NATIONAL PARKS IN KENYA ON A TANZANIA SELF DRIVE, PLEASE CONSULT GLADIOLA ADVENTURE for guidance.
BORDER CROSSING FEE AND COMESA INSURANCE
Border crossing to the following countries is allowed: Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya. But will require border crossing fee and comesa insurance.
Tanzania Self Drive Insurance
Gladiola Adventure’s cars come with comprehensive insurance covering damage from accidents and fire, as well as third-party liability for property and bodily injury.
It’s important to note that personal injury and possessions are not covered by this insurance and should be addressed through your medical and travel insurance. Clients are required to pay a non-refundable insurance fee per specific vehicle provided.
