3 Day Tanzania Camping Safari

These will be the 3 days to remember. A basic camping safari is more of experiencing African Nature in its purest forms. Picture you, your friends, and your family falling asleep in a sleeping bag with lions roaring in the background or distant cackling of hyenas, and the occasional roar or trumpet from one of Africa’s larger residents. It is authentic! This will be the opportunity to,enjoy dinner under the impressive African skies, a campfire, inspiring bush stories while listening to the sounds of the wild animals of Tanzania; a lion’s roar from a distant, hyena’s giggle, baboons bark, or zebras and impalas galloping past. This package combines the best of camping with the best of staying in a lodge.

Day 1 of 3: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Arusha airport. We set off on our safari, heading towards the renowned Tarangire National Park. Known for its extraordinary elephant population, with herds often numbering around 300, Tarangire offers a spectacular wildlife experience throughout the year. The Tarangire River, a permanent water source, attracts diverse species, creating a haven for wildlife.

During the dry season, between July and October, witness a natural wonder as numerous animals gather around the river for a drink. Marvel at the beauty of lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, as well as various antelopes and gazelles. With luck, you might even spot a python! Around lunchtime, we’ll pause at a scenic picnic spot, setting the stage for an afternoon dedicated to further wildlife exploration. Dinner and overnight accommodation await you at Migombani Campsite. Get ready for a night immersed in the sounds of the wilderness.

Day 2 of 3: Tarangire National park – Serengeti National Park
As the sun paints the sky with hues of dawn, we bid farewell to Migombani Campsite and venture towards the iconic Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (Loduare Gate). The journey itself is a captivating experience, providing an opportunity to witness wildlife in their natural habitats, including the thrilling migration of wildebeests, zebras, impalas, and majestic lions.

At the entrance of Serengeti National Park (Naabi Gate), a picturesque picnic lunch awaits. You can also explore a trail leading to a hilltop, offering breathtaking views of the expansive Serengeti. Embark on a game drive, capturing the beauty of the park’s diverse wildlife. As the day unfolds, we’ll make our way to Nyani Campsite for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay under the Serengeti’s star-studded sky. Get ready for more enchanting moments in this wildlife haven.

Day 3 of 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Our day begins with a thrilling game drive in the Serengeti National Park, where the expansive grasslands are adorned with wildlife such as zebras, impalas, and hippos lazing in their pools. After a satisfying lunch at a scenic picnic site, we set our course towards the Ngorongoro Crater.

As you approach the crater’s edge, a breathtaking panorama unfolds before you. This approximately 20 km wide crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to over 25,000 animals. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a remarkable African attraction and the world’s largest inactive, unbroken, and unfilled volcanic caldera.

Within the crater, encounter a myriad of mammals, including the endangered rhinos, graceful mountain reedbuck, jackals, and a rich variety of bird species. Keep an eye out for the spectacle of white pelicans and flamingos gracing the shores of Lake Ndutu and Lake Magadi.

In the late afternoon, we bid farewell to the Ngorongoro Crater and embark on the journey back to Arusha, cherishing the memories of this remarkable safari adventure.
