5 Day Tanzania Camping Safari
These will be the 5 days to remember. A basic camping safari is more of experiencing African Nature in its purest forms. Picture you, your friends, and your family falling asleep in a sleeping bag with lions roaring in the background or distant cackling of hyenas, and the occasional roar or trumpet from one of Africa’s larger residents. It is authentic! This will be the opportunity to, enjoy dinner under the impressive African skies, a campfire, inspiring bush stories while listening to the sounds of the wild animals of Tanzania; a lion’s roar from a distant, hyena’s giggle, baboons bark, or zebras and impalas galloping past. This package combines the best of camping with the best of staying in a lodge.
Day 1 of 5: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha or Arusha airport to commence our safari. Tarangire National Park boasts the highest density of elephants, with herds often reaching an impressive number of 300 animals throughout the year. The Tarangire River flows consistently, drawing various wildlife, especially during the dry season from July to October. Witness a spectacular natural wonder as numerous animals, including lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, and various antelopes and gazelles, gather at the river for drinking. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a python!
Around lunchtime, we will pause at a suitable picnic spot before dedicating the afternoon to more wildlife watching. Dinner and overnight accommodation await you at Migombani Campsite, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Day 2 of 5: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park
In the morning, we will depart from Migombani Camp and journey towards Serengeti National Park, crossing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (Loduare Gate). The road leading to the park’s gates provides a fantastic opportunity to observe animals in their natural habitat, often witnessing migration scenes featuring wildebeests, zebras, impalas, and lions.
A delightful picnic lunch awaits you at the entrance of Serengeti National Park (Naabi Gate), where you can also explore a trail leading to a hilltop with breathtaking views of the iconic Serengeti. Embark on a game drive en-route as we make our way to Nyani Campsite, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night surrounded by the enchanting sounds of the Serengeti wilderness.
Day 3 of 5: Serengeti National Park
Embark on a full-day game drive in the Serengeti, where the park’s abundant wildlife and diverse landscapes offer captivating scenes. Begin your morning with a game drive, continuing until the afternoon. Pause at a scenic picnic site for lunch, surrounded by the beauty of the Serengeti.
Later in the day, resume your exploration with a late afternoon game drive, ideal for capturing stunning images of wildlife against the backdrop of the setting sun. Return to Nyani Campsite for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay, immersed in the tranquility of the Serengeti.
Day 4 of 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Embark on our morning journey, capturing the abundance of animals as the sun rises over the Serengeti plains. Enjoy a game drive in the Serengeti National Park, traversing the rolling grasslands, where wildlife such as zebras, impalas, and hippos can be observed in their natural habitat.
After a delightful lunch at a picnic site, head toward the Ngorongoro Crater in the late afternoon. Upon reaching the crater’s edge, witness the breathtaking expanse of the approximately 20 km wide caldera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to over 25,000 animals. Optional visit to a Maasai Boma is available at an extra cost. Later, drive to Simba B Campsite and marvel at the stunning sunset over the crater.
Day 5 of 5: Departure Day
Start your day with an early morning breakfast, and descend to the Ngorongoro Crater, a highly visited African attraction known for being the world’s largest inactive, unbroken, and unfilled volcanic caldera. Explore this remarkable site to encounter a diverse array of mammals, including endangered rhinos, mountain reedbuck, jackals, and numerous bird species, including white pelicans and flamingos on Lake Ndutu and Lake Magadi.
Depending on your departure flight schedule, we will drive back to Arusha, concluding this unforgettable safari experience. Safe travels, and we hope you carry cherished memories of your Serengeti and Ngorongoro adventure with Gladiola Adventure.

Wonderful safari experience – highly recommended
The two of us had an absolutely wonderful time for almost three weeks on our roadtrip through Tanzania, visiting several parks. We stayed overnight at most lovely and sometimes remote situated tented-camps. The Tanzanian hosts were always very friendly and helpful. We saw the amazing nature, many, many animals and also the culture of the people.
We thank owner Didas and his team a lot for the personal attention, advice and service, in advance and throughout our trip.
Asante sana to all of you!
