4 Day Tanzania Camping Safari
A basic camping safari is more of experiencing African Nature in its purest forms. Picture you, your friends, and your family falling asleep in a sleeping bag with lions roaring in the background or distant cackling of hyenas, and the occasional roar or trumpet from one of Africa’s larger residents. It is authentic! This will be the opportunity to, enjoy dinner under the impressive African skies, a campfire, inspiring bush stories while listening to the sounds of the wild animals of Tanzania; a lion’s roar from a distant, hyena’s giggle, baboons bark, or zebras and impalas galloping past. This package combines the best of camping with the best of staying in a lodge.
Day 1 of 4: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha or the Arusha airport to commence our safari adventure. Our journey begins with a visit to the Tarangire National Park, renowned for having the highest density of elephants. These majestic creatures are visible throughout the year, often forming impressive herds of up to 300 animals. The Tarangire River ensures a constant water supply, drawing numerous animals during the dry season from July to October.
Should you choose to explore the park during this dry season, you’ll witness a remarkable spectacle of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, and various antelopes and gazelles. With a bit of luck, you might even catch a glimpse of a python. Around lunchtime, we’ll pause at a suitable picnic spot, and the afternoon will be dedicated to further wildlife observation. Enjoy a delightful dinner and spend the night at Migombani Campsite.
Day 2 of 4: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park
As the morning sun rises, we bid farewell to Migombani Campsite and set our course for the renowned Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (Loduare Gate). The journey provides a fantastic opportunity to witness animals in their natural habitat, often during migration, with wildebeests, zebras, impalas, and lions in their natural splendor.
A scenic picnic lunch awaits at the entrance of Serengeti National Park (Naabi Gate). Here, you can explore a trail leading to a hilltop with stunning views over the iconic Serengeti. Embark on a thrilling game drive en-route, capturing glimpses of the park’s diverse wildlife.
As the day unfolds, we’ll head to Nyani Campsite for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay. Prepare for more exciting adventures in the heart of Serengeti’s wilderness.
Day 3 of 4: Serengeti National Park
Embark on a captivating full-day game drive in the vast expanse of the Serengeti. The park boasts an abundance of wildlife, and dedicating ample time ensures a comprehensive exploration. Depart from Nyani Campsite in the morning for a game drive until the afternoon, where a scenic picnic site beckons for lunch.
After the rejuvenating break, resume the adventure with a late afternoon game drive, ideal for capturing stunning pictures of wildlife against the backdrop of the Serengeti sunset. Return to Nyani Campsite for a delicious dinner and another peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Serengeti wilderness. Get ready for more mesmerizing wildlife encounters on your final day in this iconic park.
Day 4 of 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Embark on a scenic journey through the Serengeti National Park, immersing yourself in the rolling grasslands adorned with a diversity of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, and hippos basking in pools. A delightful game drive en route enhances your wildlife viewing experience.
Following a satisfying lunch at a designated picnic site, continue your journey toward the Ngorongoro Crater. As you approach the crater’s edge, a breathtaking panorama unfolds before you. This UNESCO World Heritage Site spans approximately 20 km in width and is home to a staggering population of over 25,000 animals.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a renowned African attraction boasting the world’s largest inactive, unbroken, and unfilled volcanic caldera. Marvel at the multitude of mammals, including endangered rhinos, mountain reedbuck, jackals, and diverse bird species, including white pelicans and flamingos adorning Lake Ndutu and Lake Magadi.
As the late afternoon sets in, embark on the return journey to Arusha, concluding your safari adventure with a myriad of cherished memories and the promise of future African escapades.

Wonderful safari experience – highly recommended
The two of us had an absolutely wonderful time for almost three weeks on our roadtrip through Tanzania, visiting several parks. We stayed overnight at most lovely and sometimes remote situated tented-camps. The Tanzanian hosts were always very friendly and helpful. We saw the amazing nature, many, many animals and also the culture of the people.
We thank owner Didas and his team a lot for the personal attention, advice and service, in advance and throughout our trip.
Asante sana to all of you!
