9 Day Semi-Luxury Tanzania Safari
These will truly be nine unforgettable days. Unlike a luxurious safari with fancy king-size beds, our adventure offers a more immersive experience with modest yet comfortable lodgings we can find. It’s a chance to blend modern conveniences from our pre-booked accommodations inside the parks with the excitement of being in the heart of the action. Here, you’ll hear and even see animals passing by, all without sacrificing comfort. This unique package seamlessly combines the best of camping with the comforts of staying in a lodge. Welcome to an extraordinary adventure with Gladiola Adventure, your trusted tour company in Tanzania.
Day 1 of 9: Arrival Date
Our professional guide will warmly welcome you at Kilimanjaro International Airport. From there, we will drive you to Arusha, where you’ll enjoy a delightful dinner and spend the night at Tulia Hotel and Spa.
Day 2 of 9: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
Embark on your journey from the lodge in the morning, heading to Lake Manyara National Park. Renowned for its flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants, the park is a haven for ornithologists, boasting a diverse range of bird species. Keep an eye out for elephants in the wooded areas and, with luck, witness the unique behavior of tree-climbing lions, a spectacle long believed to be exclusive to Lake Manyara. As you explore, encounter baboons and vervet monkeys in the forested regions, while giraffes gracefully nibble on fresh leaves in the open spaces. Conclude your day with dinner and an overnight stay at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.
Day 3 of 9: Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti National Park
Begin your day with a morning departure from the lodge as you make your way to Serengeti National Park, traversing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (Loduare Gate). The journey presents a splendid opportunity to witness animals in their natural habitat, with possible sightings of migrating wildebeests, zebras, impalas, and lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the entrance of Serengeti National Park (Naabi Gate), where a trail leads to a hilltop offering breathtaking views of the renowned Serengeti. Embark on a game drive en-route to Thorn Tree Camp, where you’ll settle in for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4 of 9: Serengeti full day
Embark on a full-day game drive in the expansive Serengeti, where ample time is essential for optimal game viewing. Your day begins with a morning drive, extending until the afternoon, before returning to the lodge for a satisfying hot lunch. Take a brief siesta to recharge, and then venture back into the park for a late afternoon game drive, offering ideal opportunities to capture stunning images of wildlife and the mesmerizing sunset. Conclude your day with a return to Thorn Tree Camp for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 5 of 9: Full Day Serengeti game drive
Explore the renowned Serengeti National Park, celebrated for its annual migration of over 1.5 million white-bearded (or brindled) wildebeest and 250,000 zebras. Additionally, the park is home to numerous Nile crocodiles and honey badgers. Embark on a full-day game drive, armed with a packed lunch to ensure uninterrupted exploration. Witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of wildlife in their natural habitat. Conclude your day with a delectable dinner and a peaceful overnight stay at Thorn Tree Camp.
Day 6 of 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Embark on our journey in the morning, capturing the abundance of animals as the sun rises over the Serengeti plains. Enjoy a captivating game drive in the Serengeti National Park, exploring the rolling grasslands adorned with diverse wildlife, zebras, impalas, and hippos in their pools. In the late afternoon, we will proceed towards Ngorongoro, visiting the Maasai Boma along the way. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at Rhino Lodge.
Day 7 of 9: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi
Commence the day with an early morning breakfast, followed by a descent to the Ngorongoro Crater, a highly visited African attraction and the world’s largest inactive, unbroken, and unfilled volcanic caldera. Here, witness a diverse array of mammals, including the endangered rhinos, mountain reedbuck, jackals, and numerous bird species, alongside the enchanting white pelicans and flamingos on Lake Ndutu and Lake Magadi.
After a delightful picnic lunch, embark on a short afternoon game drive before proceeding to Lake Eyasi for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.
Day 8 of 9: Lake Eyasi – Arusha
Embark on a unique cultural experience with a tour that brings you closer to the Hadzabe and Datoga people, the only remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in the region. Witness their traditional way of life, including hunting small wild animals and gathering wild fruits, providing a rare glimpse into their rich cultural practices. Commonly referred to as the Bushmen, this tour offers an immersive exploration of their lifestyle.
Following the cultural encounter, drive back to Arusha for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at Tulia Hotel and Spa.
Day 9 of 9: Departure Day
On your departure day, the schedule will be tailored to accommodate your flight details. Check-out time for rooms is before 10:00 am. Wonderful safari experience – highly recommended
The two of us had an absolutely wonderful time for almost three weeks on our roadtrip through Tanzania, visiting several parks. We stayed overnight at most lovely and sometimes remote situated tented-camps. The Tanzanian hosts were always very friendly and helpful. We saw the amazing nature, many, many animals and also the culture of the people.
We thank owner Didas and his team a lot for the personal attention, advice and service, in advance and throughout our trip.
Asante sana to all of you!
